Never refill a watering can, micro-manage a stamina bar, or pass out at midnight again! We've also added modern accessibility options: rate of time options, quick-fishing, save from anywhere, an auto-run toggle, control rebinding, and an adjustable game difficulty setting.

💎 CROPS & CRYSTALS
There's a city of hard-working dwarves to feed, so farming is important work! Get to know both types of fields.
Underground fields are great for growing a wide variety of mushrooms, a favorite food of many dwarves; clearing will provide you with useful Minerals.
Outdoor fields, found up above the city in the mountainsides, are perfect for growing traditional crops: vegetables, grains, fruits, and more. Clearing will provide you with plentiful Lumber.
You will be richly rewarded at harvest if you tend to your crops well. Sell your products or use them to make one of 70+ delicious dwarven recipes at the cooking-hearth.
The dwarves have also mastered the arcane art of Crystal-growing! Refine your minerals into crystal solutions, then add them to a pool of enchanted water. Watch as a gorgeous crystal grows before your eyes in just a few short days!
Once fully grown, a crystal is a very valuable item that can be sold for a small fortune; or, combine its magical properties with other ingredients to craft enchanted tools & items at the anvil.
🏛️ WORKS OF AWE & WONDER
Raise your hammer and strike the anvil!
Collect resources throughout the world, such as minerals, ores, and lumber. Then combine them at the anvil to improve your tools or create new works of quality!
Complete Works Projects on behalf of the city: restore broken statues & pillars, repair caved-in tunnels, and rebuild broken stairways. Many Works Projects provide you with a benefit upon completion, and the Dwarf King will surely smile upon your handiwork.

Get to know your fellow Expeditionary dwarves!
Chat & give gifts daily to make new friends. Each dwarf has their own weekly schedule and item preferences, so pay attention if you want to make the most of your efforts!
Complete Requests by cooking favored recipes or delivering rare items.
After a hard day's work, stop by the local tavern for a refreshing beverage; many dwarves gather here to socialize, and you'll get special perks & bonuses for dropping in.
🐏 BOUNTIFUL BEASTS
Raise livestock in your underground barn.
Quails lay eggs;
Goats provide milk;
Glow-grubs spin enchanted silk;
and Wyrmlings shed valuable scales.
Take good care of your animals, letting them out to the pasture when the weather is nice. Healthy animals provide daily products and can multiply through breeding.
Explore the world to find useful ingredients! Discover wild herbs that grow upon the mountain-slopes; extract honey from the beehive; or go fishing in a pond or river.

Hammer & Harvest: Dwarven Roots is a video game in development by Falcon Development, tentatively scheduled for a 2027 release on Steam for Windows & Mac. It is a single-player farming sim/life sim game.
A Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign is scheduled to raise additional funds required to finish development of the game in September 2026.

Who is developing the project?
Hey, I’m Tyler (@FalconDevelops)! I’m the lead developer for Hammer & Harvest. Previously, I worked on a variety of life sim games, including “Cattails” (2017) and “Cattails: Wildwood Story” (2023).
In 2017 my wife and I founded Falcon Development LLC, an independent game studio making handcrafted games based in Indianapolis, IN.
Additional contributors include Tormod Garvin, composer for the amazing soundtrack; and Baban Illustration, the artist for the incredible key art for the game.
